Dr. HUNG, Wing Lok

Dr. Hung Wing-lok is a founder of Hung Research Center for Hong Kong and Globalization. This is a platform for prominent academics and policy-makers to discuss the latest topics on globalization with special reference to global political economy. Dr. Hung holds a PhD in International Relations from Tsinghua University in Beijing. After completing his Bachelor’s degree at the Department of Government and Public Administration, the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2009. His articles have appeared in a wide range of academic journals and newspapers, including Asian Education and Development Studies, China and the World: Ancient and Modern Silk Road, Hong Kong Economic Journal, Ming Pao, Singtao Daily and South China Morning Post. His research interests include China’s Belt and Road Initiative, Higher Education and the Greater Bay Area and global political economy.

Prof. Adam Krzymowski
Prof. Adam Krzymowski
Professor (Full) Adam Krzymowski participated in the most crucial strategic processes of Poland’s foreign policy related to EU and NATO integration. He was a member of teams appointed by the Prime Minister of Poland, which developed strategies concerning these matters. From 1999 to 2008, Professor Krzymowski worked in the Office of the Committee for European Integration. From 2008 to 2011 in Poland’s Prime Minister’s Office as a Counsellor to the Prime Minister on foreign policy.
From February 2011 to August 2015, he was the Ambassador of Poland in the UAE and represented his country at the International Renewable Energy Agency. During the second half of 2011, he was the European Union Representative in the UAE and participated in the EU-GCC Joint Council. 2011-2015, Professor Krzymowski headed Poland in many international fora, among others, on Afghanistan; Libya, and Syria, as well as at the meeting of the Proliferation Security Initiative; Countering Piracy. After his ambassador’s mission, he was conducting research at the Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies and Research. In early 2016, Professor Krzymowski assumed the post of Senior Advisor to the UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation responsible for Expo 2020 Dubai.

Dr Bharti Chhibber is an academic, author, socio-political analyst and environmentalist, and has written extensively in India and abroad for many years on a wide range of topics, including international relations and gender and climate issues. She teaches at the University of Delhi, India, and has a long list of publications including from Routledge, Springer, Palgrave Macmillan.

Leo Dvortsin is the Scientific Coordinator at the Energy and Sustainability Research Institute Groningen (ESRIG) within the Faculty of Science & Engineering. ESRIG's focus is groundbreaking research for sustainable energy transition and responsible resource use, aiming to benefit more communities worldwide in an eco-friendly manner. He is also a part of the Working Group within the Netherlands Energy Research Alliance, a collaborative effort encompassing the majority of academic research institutions in the Netherlands dedicated to energy research.

Dr. Farid Hosain
Dr. Hossain is an Associate Professor of Government and Politics at Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh. Prior to joining Jahangirnagar University in 2014, Dr. Hossain was a Lecturer and Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at Jagannath University, Bangladesh from 2011 to 2014. Dr. Hossain is a Fulbright Visiting Scholar for the SUSI Scholar Program for the Institute on U.S. Foreign Policy by the Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) Bureau of the U.S. Department of State and University of Delaware in 2023. Dr. Hossain also works as a Research Fellow at INTI International University, Malaysia.

He obtained his Bachelor of Social Science (BSS) degree in Government and Politics from Jahangirnagar University and two Master’s degrees, one in Government and Politics from Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh, another in Public Policy Analysis from the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS), Tokyo, Japan under the prestigious Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (MEXT) Scholarship. Dr. Hossain obtained his PhD in the Department of Asian and Policy Studies (APS) at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), where he was assigned to the Centre for Greater China Studies. He was awarded the prestigious Hong Kong PhD Fellowship for his PhD study. He received the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government Scholarship- 2019 for his research visit to Malmo University and Linnaeus University, Sweden. He was also awarded Outbound Reaching Scholarship 2018-19 from the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Social Science, The Education University of Hong Kong, for his outbound research. Dr. Hossain’s research interests include China and the Global Political Economy, Chinese Soft Power, Chinese Infrastructure, Investment and Capital Flows in South Asia and U.S. Foreign Policy. He has published in reputed refereed journals, including Millennial Asia (Sage), Asian Politics and Policy (Wiley), Journal of Contingencies and Crisis Management (Wiley) and so on.

Dr. Eri Ikeda specialises in business cycles, in the field of macroeconomics and development. Born and raised in Japan, she has several years of international experiences, working and studying in Japan, the U.S., Belgium and the Netherlands, where she has obtained a deep knowledge of relevant subjects and built professional expertise and capacity for business operations. Currently, her main research interest lies in understanding the functioning of the global economic system, covering the areas of business cycles, development, and industrialisation. She also works on energy and environmental issues. She has recently authored a book: “Global business cycles and developing countries”, published by Routledge (2019). She has obtained her Master’s and Doctoral Degrees, both from the International Institute of Social Studies, Erasmus University Rotterdam, in the Netherlands.

Dr. CHAE Ji-hye is currently serves as a Research Professor at the Institute of Japanese Studies, Hallym University, South Korea. In addition to her research role, Dr. Chae teaches courses on "Empire and East Asia," "Modern Chinese Politics," and "Understanding Unification, Diplomacy, and Security" in the Department of Political Science and Administration at Hallym University. She is also a committee member of the Korean Association for Contemporary Chinese Political Studies. Her research interests encompass the Cultural Power in the Post-Empire era of East Asia, the Interactions and Identity within International Relations, and the Intellectual History of Modern Chinese Politics.

Prof. Anthony R. Medina Rivas Plata is a Professor at the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos and the Universidad Católica Santa María de Arequipa in Peru. He is also the Vice-Chair for Latin America and the Caribbean of the International Association for Political Science Students (IAPSS). Previously he served as a former Director of the School of Political Science and Government of the Universidad Católica Santa María de Arequipa in Peru.
