How will the US election impact Hong Kong's economy?
On the evening of November 4, 2024, the Hung Research Centre for Hong Kong and Globalization held a seminar titled “The Impact of the U.S. Election on the Hong Kong Economy”. At the seminar, presentations were delivered by founder Dr. Hung Wing-lok and Dr. Raymond Yeung from Hong Kong Shue Yan University, followed by a discussion with experts and scholars from Europe, Hong Kong SAR, Russia, Southeast Asia and South Asia on various related issues. Dr Hung Wing-lok explored some possible ways for Hong Kong to improve its economic development. Dr. Raymond Yeung analysed the different approaches that Harris and Trump would use towards trade policies and the US dollar, and the impact on Hong Kong’s export competitiveness and trade relationships with the US.
